I really love outfit repeating.
For clients (and myself sometimes even), the biggest hurdle of getting dressed is figuring out what route to go with for your outfit. Jeans, trousers, loafers, sneakers, belts, blazers, cardigans…where do you begin! An easy solution? Start with the outfit you wore yesterday. (and if you didn’t get dressed yesterday…start with the most recent outfit you wore and felt good in).
There are so many directions you can take from there. Maybe you wear yesterday’s outfit and just change one thing. Maybe you glance at your closet and see a coloured sweater and think ‘Hey, should I be a little crazy and try it with what I am wearing? Might this work and be super chic?’
Maybe you stop there.
OR MAYBE you realize those shoes you never know how to wear might be the perfect shape for the sweater and pants you’re wearing!
You try it on. You love it.
You message troupe (me) right away saying thank you…you never would have thought to pair these pieces together!
It just gets your creative juices going!!!!
And even if you don’t change anything from yesterday’s outfit, I promise…NO ONE is ever thinking ‘Didn’t she wear that yesterday?’ (it’s an odd thing we feel subconscious of because in reality have you EVER had that thought about seeing someone else outfit repeat? In fact…most of my favorite style icons look like they wear the same thing every day.)
Anyway…here are some things I have been wearing on repeat lately.
These white mary janes…they have become a key staple in my closet to brighten up my fall/winter outfits. I have been leaning toward a pop of white instead of a pop of red lately. They really add a chic sleek unexpected touch to all my darker cold-weather outfits.
case in point….all darks with a pop of white! And a way to make boring leggings look interesting and modern formula: cardigan as a top (it’s sold out but linking anyways, it’s thin and more appropriate for warmer weather), wide leg super soft pants, mary janes, oversized coat (mine is old but this hm one has similar vibe) Achieve the same ‘pop of white’ by wearing all black and a canvas tote that you probably already have tucked away somewhere in your closet!
