Issue 106: Styling clothes for a living changes how you shop

And a pair of Zara shoes I bought on my flight home.

From my 4 a.m. airport ride to new york for a work trip last week.

Of course I flew in my spring-to-summer blazer. It’s the only way to travel for me. The pockets are key for throwing my phone and passport in as I’m moving through the airport. The perfect light layer to throw over a tee and lounge pants and still feel put together.

I was there with Sold Out to help style their fall e-commerce shoot.

One of my favourite parts of styling for brands is getting to know their clothes on a completely different level. Learning why they exist, the details behind every fabric and seam decision, then spending days bringing them to life on set. I love it so much.

Striped long sleeve coming for fall and it’s the perfect vintage red, soft and easy to wear. I loved this look so much.

Styling doesn't make me want to buy more. It actually makes me want to own less. Spending a few days around really thoughtful clothes just reminds me how little you need, when you have the right things.

I always want my closet to be full of real opportunities. Pieces that make getting dressed easier. Pieces that multiply what I already own. Pieces I genuinely want to wear, instead of feeling like I should wear them because I own them. Pieces I can just put on and head out the door.

This is exactly what I help clients with. I help you out of the style ruts. I make outfits that you feel good in. I help you figure out what’s working, and identify what’s missing. Book your styling session with me here.

This sweater is coming this fall and it’s perfection
This is a put-on-and-walk-out-the-door tee. Featured in vogue for a reason

Testing out all the looks before the shoot.

Before the shoot we did a style-out, trying every look before shoot day.

This oversized cashmere tee (not available yet) with their Everything Pant (restocking mid august) and the white leather lace up flats (these were from cos) was one of my favourite looks.

Brown turtleneck also coming soon

This turtleneck! It's exactly what I look for. A neck that actually stays up on its own without feeling tight or needing to be folded over. You know I’ll be all over that once it’s turtleneck season

Beyond the shoot

It wouldn’t be a trip to the states without a few pre-travel purchases shipped to my hotel room. When I’m travelling for work, I don’t have much time to shop while I’m there. But I can’t waste the chance to avoid duties on a few things.

The below is for paid readers only. Includes details on everything I wore, bought, and saw on my visit.
