I asked my instagram followers to tell me what outfits they are struggling with. Here are a few ideas to help you shop your closet and give you ideas!
I am off to paris next week…oui oui! I have a substack with Paris recommendations from my last trip and will write volume II after this one! (Scroll down to the bottom of it for the tragic saga of me and a pair of certain Chanel shoes. Spoiler: much like a rom-com…there's a meet-cute, some tension, some hope, some sorrow, it’s got it all)
And here are a few styling requests I didn’t get to, but seemed to be a common struggle among the troupe:
What to wear to a black tie wedding?
If I have to buy something for an event, I make sure it’s versatile—like a necklace or bag for dinners, heels that go with jeans, or a skirt I can restyle later. Bonus if it pairs with a top I can wear again!
How chic is this outfit:

How to style barrel leg pants**:
Pair with a fitted top (cardigan as a top is usually my ‘fitted’ top of choice.)
Pair with a boxier/’cropped’ shirt (I don’t mean you have to show off your stomach, but something that hits more at waist length vs long and oversized). It helps show the shape of the pant more clearly. Long and oversized can work, but most people find it overwhelming on them with a barrel leg.
Pair with a slimmer shoe. A slim sneaker. A slim boot. Something elongating. A ballet flat is always a perfect choice for a barrel leg if weather permits. Anything too clunky might make it feel too heavy on the bottom, and take away from the shape of the barrel leg.

How to style a slim cigarette pant:
Honestly, great question. It’s been a while. But balancing proportions is key and NEVER goes out of style.
Balance out the slim pant with something bigger on top like an oversized sweater.
Layering helps add dimension to the outfit. A long coat goes a long way with a slim pant to make the outfit feel more interesting and add some depth.
A wider toe or shoe with some structure help ground and balance out the oversized top with the slim leg silhouette and keep it interesting. A suede shoe (textured) would also work great.
