I posted this on instagram on Monday, I was going to rewrite it more eloquently but I spoke from the heart monday and will just repost it here for anyone who doesn’t follow me.
I got alot of messages after that story from jewish followers who told me about their bubbies (a jewish word for grandmothers) who were survivors of the holocaust. Their grandmothers suffered unimaginable horrors, inhumane acts...unfortunately not far off from what we are seeing today. One of the most memorable attributes they remember about their grandmothers growing up is that they were always dressed to the nines (I never really understood that saying…I would think it would be called dressed to the tens? but anyways…) No matter how small the outing, or even if there was no outing at all…these women got dressed, put themselves together, and had a sense of pride. These bubbies were on to something….getting dressed, and feeling good gives you a sense of power in a world we can’t control. It’s a luxury, it’s a privilege, but more than that…it’s therapy.
So this week, I started getting dressed again every morning. And I am finally feeling like myself again.
My last substack had 6 outfit formulas to wear right now that you could recreate using pieces from your own closet and I promised some shopping links in the next one…so here are 8 shoppable outfits (but don’t forget, you can still use these as inspo to shop your own closet without buying anything new!) and some other fun things I have been looking at.
Outfit on the left: great for elevated every day. Outfit on the right: same…and for school pick ups/drop offs

Outfit on the left: great for the office if you can wear jeans. Outfit on the right: a casual saturday night dinner with friends
