Thought I would share my thought process behind some recent purchases. This isn’t to convince you guys to buy anything in the video. The purpose is to show you how to be a thoughtful and better shopper.
Before you buy something, and certainly before you decide to take off the tags and keep it…use my puzzle analogy.
Do you already own this puzzle piece? Can something in your closet achieve a similar look? If you try on a similar outfit, does it get you close to the style you want with the new piece?
Are you excited about the new puzzle piece. (seems like a silly question, but can’t tell you how many clients ask me if they should keep something that they don’t even love)
You should want to rip the tags off. You should feel so excited about all the new outfits you can make with that ONE NEW piece.
Do the puzzle! This is a crucial next step: try on the outfits! Do they work in real life? Sometimes our ideas don’t match reality when we try them on
Can you make at least 3 new puzzles. I like to make sure there are at least THREE different outfits I can make. For new pants, I want them to match at least three different shoes, and for a new top, at least three distinct pairs of pants. I also consider both casual and dressed-up options.
Click here to book a facetime styling session - I have a few more spots left in December. Each session is one hour. I help you with all your wardrobe struggles. Each client receives a shared album with pictures I took during the session of the outfits I made for you, including some additional helpful notes.
